The Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF) is the leading independent philanthropy in the support of exchanging university students, scientists, and scholars between the United States and Belgium. Through its Exchange Fellowship Program, the BAEF offers numerous fellowships for Belgian citizens for graduate study or research in the United States. Fellowships for Music Study in the U.S. are outright non-renewable grants of up to $60,000; a $20,000 stipend to cover living & travel expenses and up to $40,000 for tuition & health insurance at a U.S. school of music. Fellows are expected to stay in the U.S. for a full academic year (nine months) at a top school of music.

Eligibility: Applicants must: hold Belgian nationality hold a bachelor's or master's degree in music or equivalent foreign degree at the time of activation of the fellowship submit a recent recording of personal performance or work on a CD submit official transcripts as evidence of an outstanding academic record submit an application to a graduate music school in the US. have a good command of the English language and submit by November 15th a TOEFL iBT score of >100/120 or IELTS > 7.5/9 have obtained their bachelor's degree within the last two years
